Leon Osborne publically apologises
During the week, one of the Bradford City apprentices, Leon Osborne made derogatory comments about the club on a personal social networking site which understandably have angered a very large number of supporters.
The player has met with Manager Stuart McCall and disciplined internally.
In addition he has openly apologised to those he has offended saying: "I am truly sorry for what was said but it was never meant in that way. It was me simply trying to wind up my friends back home in Doncaster and it has backfired on me.
"I was lucky enough to get to make my debut at the end of last season and it was one of the best things ever to happen to me and was an honour to play for Bradford City Football Club, something I want to do many, many times again."
Stuart McCall said: "I was bitterley disappointed when this was brought to my attention. Only two days ago I was in front of a fans forum saying that I only wanted players here who wanted to play for us and show passion and commitment and this happens.
"He knows he was in the wrong and while it is no excuse for what he said, he is a young lad and has made his one and only mistake while an apprentice at this club.
"In future he will prove himself on the football field not on websites. He has been disciplined and hopefully supporters too will realise it was a foolish mistake and let him get on with what could prove to be a successful career."
